The man lay on the cold hard floor
Wrapped in a blanket, he blocked the door
The streets are cold on a winters night
Trying to rest til morning light
Lonely old man with nowhere to go
Shuffling the streets ever so slow
Carrying his life in a bag on his back
Sleeping in doorways wrapped in a sack
People walk by but don’t hear the plea
Blinded from what they don’t want to see
People struggle living on the street
No warm clothes not much to eat
Looking for food anywhere that he can
Takes the pride out of any man
Nowhere to live, hungry and cold
Many of these people will never get old
Found in a doorway with no-one to weep
Hungry and frozen he died in his sleep
Found in a doorway with no-one to weep
Hungry and frozen he died in his sleep.
