God Made the Whiskey
A simple, fun song about whiskey. It has some obvious religious undertones and it structured around the idea of faith; though that the song is saying "God made the whiskey" is more or less a testament to how good the writer thinks whiskey is and not necessarily literally claiming God made it.

As I sit here tonight and I drink her away
With a potion that's rough and yet smooth
A thought lingers in, wonderin' how it was made
How could such grace flow into this fool
Then my ears hear the choir, those bright lights dim
And I know right then, it was made by Him...
(Chorus)
God made the Heavens and the earth
The seas, the trees, the dirt
The mountains and the flowers
And then he brought in the breeze
He made the stars and all the birds
The roamin' buffalo herds
Breathed life in two people
And that's our history
But Adam needed something strong to deal with Eve
So then God made the whiskey
There's a girl 'cross the bar, she ain't lookin' at me
She just stares at an empty wine glass
Lord, be it my charge to buy her a drink
Convert her to bourbon, no questions asked
May all of her sins be now burned away
Out ye damn demons, and let the angels play...
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
I bow my head and get to prayin'
Thank you for corn mash and oak barrel agin'
(Chorus)
