Once Upon Another Lifetime

(Brian Hendrix)

This is about a guy who's remembering past days and how he was so in love with a girl, and he thought it was forever. But like most of us find out, "forever" isn't really that long after all, and life goes on.

God, girl, your taste in music was so terrible And your taste in those bad boys, even worse You took your mama's car without permission Called me freaking out when you hit a curb But we were very young and very rowdy Scofflaws steppin' past all their thin lines And when we fell in love we felt forever Would always be so heavy, free and bright (Chorus) But that was once upon another lifetime Where the yellow light of youth always shone Our hearts were stronger then, our hands were smoother And damn sure they were easier to hold And once upon another lifetime We thought love was all there was to do Never could convince us life was fleeting Or make us stop believing in our truth But it's all gone but the memories; we remember that it rhymed But that was once upon another lifetime I held you tight beneath the glow of heaven Our bodies 'pon the Earth merged in the night Whatever we were doin', it sure was workin' Whatever we were feelin', it felt right 'Til one day, we blinked and so it was over I look back now and wonder if we knew That forever just ain't nothin' if you don't reach it Still, I thought that we might get there, me and you (Chorus)

It Ain't Rained Once

By Brian Hendrix

This is a weird one to explain. There's a guy who's in love with a girl, who doesn't love him back. He thinks that the fact it hasn't rained in a while is a sign that their love is meant to be, but other people are realizing that the entire world is basically ending, and he's aloof to it. In reality, all the signs are pointing and telling him that he's doomed, but he can't see it.

A short little folk song. Nothing much to explain here in description. The song is pretty self-explanatory.

Everybody's Life is a Country Song

By Brian Hendrix

This is a song about all the things that we have in common as human beings. The love, the loss, the triumph, the let-downs, etc. In a way, everybody's life mirrors the lyrics of a country song, in some way or another.

No is an answer

By Howard Aronson

This is a weird lyric I'm not even sure the real meaning of it. I just know that for so many years I turned to drugs to find peace which is an oxymoron. I never took the word no for an answer in just about everything I did. I only wanted to hear yes, or thought that I could do anything. I realized today that no is an answer, and some things are just out of my reach. I definitely realize today that drugs was not the answer and I should have said no.

Will-O'-the-Wisp

By Melanie Thompson

Happy Halloween. This October has had some very scary days. We have mass shootings. We have war. We have in-fighting amongst the populous. Everyone seems to have a bone to pick. When I was little, I enjoyed Halloween. The costumes. The free candy. The decorations. It was fun. This Halloween not so much. Will-o'-the-Wisp is a deceiver. He is an evil that seems to be everywhere. These lyrics unmask him.
