November Gray

(Christopher Van Name)

Jealousy is a deadly mistress. She’ll steal your love away. Don’t let her seduce you.

She’s a faceless shadow On a moonless night Dancing in my dreams Making me believe That love’s not always what it seems In the lonely shallows Of my jealous heart She softly whispers, “Love is blind It chooses what it wants to see” Then she disappears Without a trace Just before the morning sun Reveals her face And I pray She stays away forever And I wish I never knew November Gray She can steal the light away From a bright and sunny day She’ll find a way if you let her And when the sky turns cold and dark She’ll tear your love apart While she wallows in her shameless pleasure Then she’ll disappear Without a trace Just before the dawn Reveals her face And you’ll pray She’s gone forever And you’ll wish you never met November Gray She had me many years ago When I was young and didn’t know She told me love was just a foolish dreamer But now I see that it was me Whose envy wouldn’t set her free And that love’s the only true redeemer Now she’s gone Without a trace And as I watch the sun Play on your face I dream of all the years We’ll be together And I pray your love Is mine forever And I wish I never knew November Gray I wish I never knew November Gray

The last tear

By Christopher Van Name

You can’t help someone who won’t help themselves and take ownership of their own life, their own decisions, and live with the consequences of their actions. There comes a time when you have to detach with love.

Rust

By Christopher Van Name

It’s human nature to cling to life until our last breath. We watch our loved ones grow old and outlive their friends and loved ones. They become isolated and lonely. You stay too long, you turn to rust.

The Sun

By Howard Aronson

The song is about war despair no light at the end of the tunnel. And it's all because the sycophants, the people who look down on us for their own gain, as they rule the world. The sky is dark there is no sun there is no warmth there is no hope. The sky is just basically a roof that keeps out the light and if I ever see the light again it will be short-term. They will always be sycophants that come along and take control. It's been like that since the start of time. This lyric is very abstract, and there's a lot of ways you can interpret it. Even I'm having a tough time explaining why I wrote it and what it all means.

The Stallion

By Edward McBride

This song is an analogy comparing a wild stallion with young males bursting with testosterone. Told through the eyes of one woman who will not succumb to the temptation or pressure.
