Vigilante

(Edward McBride)

These lyrics are very dark and sad describing how a young boy was constantly raped by immediate and other family members. The pain both physical and mental are seared in his brain. He studies how to use chemicals like the Russians with no trace found and sets out to be the savior for those who continue to abuse children. He leaves his calling card, and a deep V is placed on the forehead of the perpetrator. Justice.

When darkness fell upon my door Betrayal came from those I’d known Through shattered trust, I bore the pain But deep within, a fire grown Chorus Justice is delayed; it is time to rise Their deeds will face the light I stand, the vigilante strong For every child’s silent song In shadows cast by Russian lore I found the tools to settle scores With studied hand and measured dose Their reckoning, no one can oppose Bridge No more will they haunt the night No more will their deeds take flight With every strike, a V is found A symbol of the justice I’ve crowned Outro In the end, my heart finds peace As the darkness fades, and the pain does cease For though I’ve fought, and though I’ve bled Justice reigns, the lights ahead

Hillsborough

By Edward McBride

On April 15 1989 Two English football teams Liverpool and Nottingham Forest met in the FA Cup semi-final at the neutral ground of Sheffield Wednesday, Hillsborough. English football will remember its deepest shame as a different age, the appalling crush on unsafe terraces with fenced-in-"pens" for supporters, deemed suitable by the Football Association. 97 people lost their lives as the police continued to push fans in until the barriers crashed. To this day despite inquests police have refused to accept responsibility for their negligence. The families of the victims for the past 35 years have fought and some died in their quest for justice. The failures of the legal system lead to Justice delayed is justice denied. RIP and You'll never walk alone.

No Safe Places

By Kurt Baty

An incisive look into the ineptness of our leaders in the immediate aftermath of mass shootings. "No Safe Places" astutely observes the gun culture climate; the senseless blame game; and the absurd solutions of the G.O.P. that inevitably follows.

Fever

By Zachary Stump

A song about drug addiction. The way the world is these days, there’s no point in sobriety and yet everyone treats drugs like a sickness. Well if I’m sick then the doctor better fix me.
