He takes one last look
As the final whistle blows
It's just another shutdown
And into the unknown he goes
What's happening to our country
There's so much to discuss
Now who's gonna flix this
What's to become of us
Yeah it's his final shift
He has no plan in sight
And with a family to feed
It's an injustice, it's not right
As he walks through his door
And looks over at his wife
She can see the fear in his eyes
And asks, "is the gonna be our life"?
He manages a smile
"honey it's gonna be all right"
But deep down he knows it won't
There will be no sleep tonight
Yeah it's his final shift
He has no plan in sight
And with a family to feed
It's an injustice, it's not right.
