I never knew life could be so rough
never knew life could be so painful
when I looked at the world
with my childlike eyes
so many years have now gone by
and one by one to all my dreams
I have had to say goodbye
the dreams have faded
and the love is dead
I see, I hear, I breathe
what more is there to be said
so I take a hit
