Summer Dream
This is a stab at the a classic summer song with an interpretive twist. I ignored the usual feel good and relational themes for one that hopefully leaves the listener guessing. What it meant to me while writing it will likely be completely different from what it means to you. However, the lyrics are simultaneously not super complex and allow for a celebratory, triumphant feeling to also shine through. Additionally, the rhyme scheme is intentionally a little odd to give the song a more memorable and unique sound.

[Chorus]
I've been making plans
To go out in the summer
Hit the gas in a Hummer
While I raise my hands
So it'll last forever
[Verse 1]
It’s been a long spring
Feels kind of fitting
I've felt pushed and pulled
It's been a long life
It also flies by
I'll use what I have left
Because
[Chorus]
I've been making plans
To go out in the summer
Hit the gas in a Hummer
While I raise my hands
So it'll last forever
[Verse 2]
I'm sort of excited
And I'm sort of scared
Been planning for a while
All packed and prepared
It sort of feels right
