False Hope

(Mark Walsh)

Hi there. Yea, so this song I call ‘false hope’ initially I called it ‘death song’, but that was just a bit too morbid I guess? So basically it’s about the hope and faith we put in religion and how our lives ultimately end in death. Death is always there waiting for us, we live by this everyday yet somehow we live in denial.

We are born, we die, nothing more, nothing less, I never have believed in the black cloth press. The rich are convinced, the poor are left to die, but in the end we’re all the same, no matter how hard you try. Son to the gun, daughter to the slaughter, slave to the grave No soul to save, no place to go, no heaven above, no hell below Son to the gun, daughter to the slaughter, slave to the grave. Your prayers mean nothing, your words never heard, the last ones on your tongue, they sound so absurd. Hope in your eyes, redemption on your mind, words from a priest, you won’t be left behind. Son to the gun, daughter to the slaughter, slave to the grave. No soul to save, no place to go, no heaven above, no hell below Son to the gun, daughter to the slaughter, slave to the grave. Your bones are turned to ash, your flesh is eaten by the ground, nothing left of you, nothing can be found. The memory of your life, in the minds we leave behind, they too will be just dust, why are we all so blind. Son to the gun, daughter to the slaughter, slave to the grave. No one ever comes back, death is just one way, dead we become, and dead we stay. Son to the gun, daughter to the slaughter, slave to the grave.

The Witch

By Mark Walsh

Hi. Yea, so I recently watched a movie about a medieval witch, which got me thinking about the Salem Witch Trials and how women were accused of witchcraft and then stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. This song I guess is about a man who loses his love as she’s accused of being a witch. Thanks for looking.
