Baller of Twine

(Melanie Thompson)

An entanglement? Is that really the new term we are now using to describe an adulterous affair?

Verse 1. Remember me? I'm the love you left dangling on a string. Fell flat on my face after that Mr. Green. Who are you to imply that it was my fault. Why, I ought to teach you the lesson you taught. Chorus. Me, I'm a scholar. You, you're a baller of twine. You'll take whatever when there's nothing better in sight. Knock it off. Knot tonight. Verse 2. Remember me? I'm the love you left hanging by a thread. Kicked to the curb. Dropped off the ledge. Why do you insist the blame is all mine. Why, I ought to show you the extent of your crime. Chorus. Me, I'm a lawyer. You, you're a baller of twine. You'll take whatever when there's nothing better in sight. Knock it off. Knot tonight. Verse 3. Remember me? I'm the love you left swinging on a line. Passed out on the beach. Washed away at high tide. Why do you continue to suggest that we meet. Why, I ought to deck you, shipwreck you, you creep. Chorus. Me, I'm a harbor. You, you're a baller of twine. You'll take whatever when there's nothing better in sight. Knock it off. Knot tonight.

Morphological Blurt

By Melanie Thompson

I had a very active puppy I named Blurt. My brother asked me if he could have it. Because I had decided to join the military, I said OK. When I came home to visit my brother and Blurt, I was told the sad news that Blurt had ran away. I immediately went around the neighborhood looking for him. No luck. I've never told my brother this, but I have always suspected that he dumped Blurt. I was thinking about Blurt today and decided to write some lyrics in his honor. Blurt, if you are still alive, know you were loved.
