Dope House

(Melanie Thompson)

Bankers say real estate is a good investment. And having a mortgage improves your credit score. Wonder what they invest in? To me the whole banking system is corrupt. I wrote these lyrics with banks in mind. It's the pitch of a corrupt banker to a potential investor.

Verse 1. There's a little square house on elm street. A psychedelic retreat. A secret knock pops the three-bolt lock. It's a habitat for repeats. The ceiling drips the morphine. The floors are laced with codeine. Paint to sniff. Sniff all you wish. Enough to make your eyes sting. Chorus. This house is dope. Built to last. Stay afloat. More power than the Pope. Strong enough to buy a vote. This house is dope. Tear it down. That's a joke. Fast money. High gross. Drug dealers are the goats. Verse 2. Windows caked with angel dust. Cotton walls hold needle crust. Chimney smoke. Take a toke. Choke until your lungs bust. The candy dish holds phennies, uppers, downers, bennies. Get carpet rash from carpet hash. The hazards here are many. Chorus. This house is dope. Built to last. Stay afloat. More power than the Pope. Strong enough to buy a vote. This house is dope. Tear it down. That's a joke. Fast money. High gross. Drug dealers are the goats. Verse 3. There's a kitchen you can dine in. Junk chairs to get high in. Copper pots to cook the dots. The acid quick to kick in. There are bedrooms you can sleep in, overdose or die in. A priest on call. And that's not all. A hall your heirs can cry in. Chorus. This house is dope. Built to last. Stay afloat. More power than the Pope. Strong enough to buy a vote. This house is dope. Tear it down. That's a joke. Fast money. High gross. Drug dealers are the goats. Verse 4. There's a bathroom if you need one. With a crackhead you can piss on. Snort your trash. Flushed your stash. A plunger to rely on. The carport has a tunnel. A get-the-hell-out-of-Dodge-now funnel. The hostess has the backdoor pass. She's trained in all things subtle. Chorus. This house is dope. Built to last. Stay afloat. More power than the Pope. Strong enough to buy a vote. This house is dope. Tear it down. That's a joke. Fast money. High gross. Drug dealers are the goats.

Some people believe that what one human being does can affect another human being. Even if they are great distances apart. These lyrics take that idea and shrink it.

Chainsaw Selma

By Melanie Thompson

The fiddle is a beautiful instrument. Though it is sometimes referred to as a "saw". The sounds that come from it are themselves quite beautiful. But in the wrong hands instead of beauty it brings death. Yes, my friends, the fiddle played the wrong way or by the wrong person can kill. Read these lyrics if you don't believe me.

These lyrics come from personal experiences. They brought back some really bad times. But they are merely shadows. I am a better person having outlasted them.

Light Beams

I am not sure where we all go when we die. But I bet my last dollar wherever we go we will get there via light beams.

Curls (Girly Girl)

By Annabel Chima

This lyric specifically uplifts 'Exotical' women - women who are Mixed-race (with Black/African/Caribbean), women who have lived the 'Mixed-race Experience', or those who are constantly sought after/fetishized for 'looking Mixed'. As a DSE (Dark(er)-Skinned Exotical) myself, this Song Lyric is important to me because my phenotype and aesthetic have always been the centre of discussion/attention/speculation, especially in a sexual way. I want other Exoticals, whether Light-Skinned, Brown-Skinned, or Dark-Skinned, to feel understood and uplifted in a validating and empowering way. This Lyric focuses on 'curly hair' (type 2 waves, but more specifically type 3 curly hair) which is often a phenotype that gets fetishized by men and women of other races/phenotypes. This fetish is also seen through people trying to look like us e.g. wearing our natural curls as wigs and/or wand curling their own hair to mimic ours etc. The celebrity women I mention in this song are ICONS to me and are a great representation of 'Exotical' Beauty. I am solely giving them homage. This Song Lyric was also mildly inspired by the Exotical Movement (EGTOW) and it could be seen as 'political' but it is absolutely NOT political - it is solely to uplift Exoticals (with said phenotype). A little bit cheeky, but fun. Suitable for the following Genres: Hip-hop, RnB, Rock, Rap.

SHE NEVER WENT DOWN THAT BEATEN TRACK

By Adrian Mallinson

Song about feeling devastated after the passing of a very special person who was original and not in any way part of the speed and greed that characterise modern life. Inspired after reading a poem by William Wordsworth on a similar theme.
