Rust

(Christopher Van Name)

It’s human nature to cling to life until our last breath. We watch our loved ones grow old and outlive their friends and loved ones. They become isolated and lonely. You stay too long, you turn to rust.

The sun comes up The sun goes down Another day Another round You lie and wait For it all to end You pray it breaks Before it bends You try to live The way you should You do your best And hope it’s good enough We count the days And mark our time The good old days Are hard to find And when we’re gone The wind still blows The river runs And so it goes They say we all Return to dust You stay to long You turn to rust The sun comes up The sun goes down The world keeps spinning ‘Round and ‘round We count the days And mark our time And hope we find Some piece of mind And when we’re gone The wind still blows The river runs And so it goes They say we all Return to dust You stay too long You turn to rust You stay too long You turn to rust When I was young I didn’t know How hard it is To just let go And so it goes And so it goes…

IG Accounts

By Annabel Chima

So this lyric was inspired by real events: I was on Instagram, minding my own business - as you do, when a 'bot' (fake account) pops up to me asking to be my "good friend." He had a bogus-looking profile picture (it looked superimposed), '0' following, and '0' followers, and I just remember thinking that he must be a creep; so I decided to play him at his own game. After several chats, I sent my Cashapp and asked for money, to see if he was really who he said he was; if he pulled through, we could continue talking. (That's how you test these bots so that they won't try it again). He replied, "No thank you miss" and proceeded to 'unsend' all his sent messages...creep. These lyrics are very personal to me. It discusses the situations like I have mentioned above - the plights of Instagram - in a very satirical way. These lyrics are mockingly funny, and should not be taken too seriously. The vibes and atmosphere of the song are very freeing and playful. GENRES: Rnb, Mumble Rap, Drill, Rock, Pop. These lyrics fit perfectly into the aforementioned genres.

Killing Spree

This is about a person with a die-hard crush on a male serial killer. She wants nothing more than to be with him, or at the very least be his next victim, but he doesn’t even notice she exists.
