Sunshine.
I really liked the way this turned out. It's fun to sing too, with different inflections of "Sunshine" at the start of each sentence. As far as the writing, I think it does well to paint a picture of a world without sunshine, especially when it's revealed what "sunshine" is.

Sunshine, you been gone for ‘bout three days now
Sunshine, you been ducked behind those clouds
Sunshine, without you, skies stay weeping
Sunshine, in your absence, skies grow loud
Sunshine, the flowers miss your warm touch
Sunshine, your glow just won’t break through
Sunshine, has the darkness come to claim you
Sunshine, for if not, I think you’re due
(Guitar solo; no chorus)
Sunshine, used to warm up well the cold ground
Sunshine, it’s like ice since you have strayed
Sunshine, and your minute’s worth a lifetime
Sunshine, for your return, the ladies pray
Sunshine, can’t see the moon without you
Sunshine, we’re shrouded now in purple night
Sunshine, we’re walking ‘round in circles
Sunshine, hear our pleas, and shed your light
(Guitar)
Sunshine, kept us locked tight in your cradle
Sunshine, we go now spiraling through space
Sunshine, though it was hard to look upon you
Sunshine, now we just long to see your face
Sunshine, your children weep without you
Sunshine, felt her glow could use a change
Sunshine, what the folks don’t know about you
Sunshine, the girl was mine, that was her name
Yeah, Sunshine, the girl was mine, that was her name
(Guitar)
