Under the Magnolia
Got inspired once upon a time to write a song about a magnolia tree. I think it turned out pretty well.

Under the magnolia, in the middle of the summer
I was holding your hand, when I told ya I loved ya
And the blossoms smelled so sweet, just like your hair
Climbing up the branches, gonna pick ya some petals
I can just float up there, and I doubt that I’d settle
With your love, I get so high, when you’re right here
Baby, our magnolia stays in bloom throughout the year
(Chorus)
"That’s our tree," she said, "for you and me"
It’ll grow on strong just like our love
Bloom for all the world to see
They'll see...
Up in the magnolia, there’s a family of robins
Looking down on our love and chirping proudly about us
And the music sounds so sweet to lovers’ ears
Leaning on you, girl, you know there’s never a problem
If there was, and I had to, then believe I would solve it
Baby, I would shoulder your burdens and all your fears
Like the magnolia, we grow strong and stay right here
(Chorus)
Seeing the magnolia nowadays, it reminds us
How the love of our past is not that far behind us
We got miles of roads to go, the coming rings
All the chickadees, finches, cardinals and sparrows
That have lived in the branches are gone but their memories
Linger on like those initials carved in the tree
Baby, 'til the sky falls down, there's proof of you and me
(Chorus)
