I found peace in a bottle

(Mungai Kiroga)

This is a song about the slippery slope that is addiction and catching yourself before falling down the hole.

I found peace in a bottle. And my heart settled at the bottom. When yourself becomes the battle. You face a stranger in the mirror. Building walls from the danger. But they’re made of glass and empty vapor. I found peace in a bottle, But there was no love at the bottom. Yeah I found peace in a bottle, But there was no love at the bottom. When every breath becomes a battle, You’re building lies at the bottom. We don’t say prayers in the bottle, There’s only dreams and empty vessels. But I found peace in the bottle. So much silence at the bottom. I found lies in a bottle, Then I saw me at the bottom. I found peace in the bottle. But there was no love at the bottom.

No is an answer

By Howard Aronson

This is a weird lyric I'm not even sure the real meaning of it. I just know that for so many years I turned to drugs to find peace which is an oxymoron. I never took the word no for an answer in just about everything I did. I only wanted to hear yes, or thought that I could do anything. I realized today that no is an answer, and some things are just out of my reach. I definitely realize today that drugs was not the answer and I should have said no.

Will-O'-the-Wisp

By Melanie Thompson

Happy Halloween. This October has had some very scary days. We have mass shootings. We have war. We have in-fighting amongst the populous. Everyone seems to have a bone to pick. When I was little, I enjoyed Halloween. The costumes. The free candy. The decorations. It was fun. This Halloween not so much. Will-o'-the-Wisp is a deceiver. He is an evil that seems to be everywhere. These lyrics unmask him.
