Tabloid lies become the new machine blinding our eyes to the world unseen. Fettered now by the hate we’re fed better to live enslaved by dread Hold me by the collar break my back in two the human soul shrinks smaller and there’s nothing we can do. From the cities to the mountains the world’s fallen cold the blood spills out in fountains the price of what we’ve sold! As the oceans fall and we risk it all for Kingdom, God and gold! Stagnant stands the stark new day passion drained by the dark display. Broken down by the world of lead the sleeping crowds alive but dead Burning all our prayers the heat of industry turning to despair as we blacken dark the sea From the cities to the mountains the world’s fallen cold the blood spills out in fountains the price of what we’ve sold! As the oceans fall and we risk it all for Kingdom, God and gold! Breathing black In grief, we drown the working class were broken down. A wrench, some brass And a brand new clown Now it’s time to break the crown! Reckless rising like an angry sea the cogs and gears of industry! The machine uncoupled and the kings nailed down Every flame rekindled as the sirens sound! The revolution rages, hot the fires burn, the soul unlocked! Brethren bound by creed and class breathe new air, freed at last! Free from hate and greed we thrive now children play under fresh blue sky. No more need for class and crown the machine has crashed new life’s been found.

Walls

By Steven Mailer

Singer laments the death of their lover in the home they built together that has become an oppressive reminder of everything they've lost. The singer resigns themself to becoming a ghost, haunting the rotting body of a dead love, etching the memories of the one they lost into the wood and stones for all time.

Last Note

By Steven Mailer

An emotional piece from the POV of a creative celebrity who struggles to find himself in his work anymore. His relationship falls apart as it's based more on what he can do and not who he is. This song is his signing out of life. Stepping away from love, his career and everything else to see if he can find himself in anonymity. Killing the past to make a new future.

Country Never Left

By Brian Hendrix

Just a different way to say "You can take the girl out the country, but can't take the country out the girl." This is a very upbeat, rockin' song with a lot of tempo and a powerful chorus. I really like how this turned out, especially the bridge into the chorus. My favorite part of the song. This is also a story a lot of people can relate to who ended up in the city. The chorus pauses for a measure after the ellipses, and it sounds really good that way.
