Lightweight

(Brian Hendrix)

We all have that one friend. You know which one it is; and if you don't, it might be you! That one friend you can't drink with, because they can't hold their liquor. This is a really fun, upbeat song with a nice, alliterative chorus. It's one of my favorite fun songs.

Woke up in a basement and walked adjacent To a store for a bottle, not a thing to chase it Gonna be a short night again, now, ain't it Three or four, no more, and he'll be (whew!) wasted Last week laid off, so the barroom calls He'll spend more on tips than his drinks will cost Find someone to lean on, 'til they yell "Get off!" Call the man a cab 'cause he's bound to get lost He's a (Chorus) Lightweight and he can't drink a lick But he sure can't get enough of it Got his old lady back home throwin' fits 'Cause he falls home lights out when he's lit Lightweight, no he can't hold at all Just one shot makes him ten-foot tall Won't quit, when he falls he'll start to crawl And crawl and crawl He's a lightweight (Chorus) For a couple a years, only a couple of beers Would have him huggin' and lovin' and reduced to tears Take him out on the town is something you better fear Goes from zero to stoned, only got the one gear Figured what in the hell, better get him some help Walked him up to the steps and he skipped all twelve He said, "I don't think I really need to change myself" 'Fore the words left his mouth, turned around and just fell He's a (Chorus) Every drink he takes, it's just like his first And he gets slammed down, might take off his shirt But he can't fight either, for what it's worth We don't talk about it none, that'll just make it worse And he's slowed down some since old age come Probably 'cause of the money, he ain't got none If you brought him a sixer, he'd probably drink one Head down, eyes up, slurring, "I ain't done!" He's a (Chorus)

Double Shot

By Brian Hendrix

I don't think there are nearly enough songs that compare women to other things men love. Though I wrote this and likely shouldn't be tooting my own horn, I think I got fairly clever in some spots with innuendo and double entendres, so it's a really fun song. It's short and snappy with an upbeat chorus. It's really fun to play and sing.

Hold Me Up

By Brian Hendrix

A song about an alcoholic man who can't seem to keep himself on the wagon. He keeps drinking, and he keeps coming home wanting help from his woman to hold him up. For me, this song is really emotional and is relevant to a lot of different people who struggle with alcohol and are looking for someone strong to help them through it.

What You Do To Me

By Brian Hendrix

A song about a guy who can't get enough of his girl. No matter what time of day, whenever he sees her, he's thinking about her very passionately and romantically. It's what she does to him. This is a song on the shorter side, likely coming in at under 3 minutes with any sort of music, which makes it ideal for a quick radio play.

She Don't Love Me Enough

By Brian Hendrix

A song about a man whose woman leaves him, but that's it. No resentment, no anger, no bad blood, just a girl who moves on. So that leads him to believe that she must have never loved him, since she doesn't actually hate him, which is the typical thing that happens when people break up, at least for a while.

4:20

By Annabel Chima

This lyric is full of double entendres. It is a crude play on the '4:20' smoking culture with satirical references to sex. The vibes and atmostphere of the lyrics are very adult - themed, masculine and suggestive. You're guaranteed a heated and lit audience. It fits perfectly in mostly rap genres.
