Like you.

(Taylor Schealler)

This song is about that first person you meet after a breakup that you’re just not over yet. It’s about catching yourself looking for someone who’s just like the person you loved to try to replace them.

I found someone who’s just like you Just not enough like you To fall out of love like you Brown eyes like you Curly hair And he’s nice like you Couple inches shorter But he tries like you He’s just not enough like you For me to fall out of love with you He’s. Just. Like. You. Just. Not. Like you. Re-place. Can’t. Find. You. Know. I. Try. To. But. He’s just not you He’s always warm I can hear his heart beating compliments me the same As you did every day He thinks he’s the thing I’ve been needing Just like you said He has a temper And a history of cheating Just like you did He’s so convincing Just like you been But I can’t trust him Cuz that’s what you did He’s. Just. Like. You. Just. Not. Like you. Re-place. Can’t. Find. You. Know. I. Try. To. But. He’s just not you He is just so similar But it’s not the same I’m here and you’re with her It’s such a shame I’m a dreamer But it’s not the same In my dreams you’re with me And I hate it Cuz I wake up and you’re with her He’s. Just. Like. You. Just. Not. Like you. Re-place. Can’t. Find. You. Know. I. Try. To. But. He’s just not you

Baby You're Mine

By Brian Hendrix

Wow. Can't believe I never posted this. Had this written for a while. I remember right after I thought of the main line here, which inspired the song, "Baby, you're mine," and the way I said it, that this was one of my top-20 songs before it was even finished. Yeah. I love this song. "Baby, you're mine... baby you're mine." The way it works for me, the second time is a lot quicker, which makes it sound very cool to sing. That's how I do it. Also, the verses immediately bleed into the chorus; that's just how it's set up.
